NOTICE OF ARF COMMON LAW COPYRIGHT & PURCHASER AGREEMENT

 

All rights of reference remain the intellectual property of the Animal Research Foundation. Through your purchase, the Animal Research Foundation grants you a personal and nonexclusive use of its intellectual property.  You may not make any copies of the information contained therein, whether in printed or electronic format.  Such copying would be in violation of an extensive body of law at both the state and federal levels related to intellectual property.  [Specifically, trademark law protects words, names, images, or any combination thereof to a particular product or service being sold.  Moreover, Section 43 of the Lanham Act protects the public from false and misleading advertising claims that are likely to cause confusion among viewers of an advertisement.]  Further, you may not modify, adapt, disassemble, decompile, translate, create derivative works of, or in any way reverse engineer the intellectual property of the Animal Research Foundation. You may not export or re-export, directly or indirectly, without compliance with appropriate governmental regulations.  The enclosed document(s) contain Animal Research Foundation’s confidential and proprietary information which you agree to take steps to protect from unauthorized disclosure or use.  This agreement is effective until terminated.  This agreement terminates without notice from the Animal Research Foundation if you fail to comply with any provision of the agreement.

       

Your acceptance of the enclosed ARF document(s), i.e., Certificate of Registration, Extended Pedigree, articles, books, magazines, etc., deems that you accept the terms of this purchase [or gift] agreement.  If you do not agree with these terms, you may return this letter and/or package, within 10 business days of mailing, to the ARF, and your purchase fee will be refunded in full.
