Question:
I have a “Gyp” [or “Dog”] that is registered with the ARF;
however, I have a “Dog” [or “Gyp”] that is registered in another
“Club” or “Association”; how do I register my litter of puppies?
Answer: Before the ARF will recognize and
register a litter of pups, we require the breeder to have both the “Sire”
and “Dam” of his/her litter ARF registered.
This is required even if the “Sire” is owned by someone else. However,
only those “Clubs” and/or “Associations” whose “Certificates of
Registration”, and “Pedigrees” are ARF-approved, will be accepted into the
ARF Stud Book. Therefore, if a
breeder seeks to register his or her non-ARF registered canine, with the ARF,
he/she must complete an “ARF Application for Double Registration”, and an
“ARF Application for Double Registration Addendum”, and attach a copy of
his/her “Club’s” and/or “Association’s” “Certificate of
Registration” and “Pedigree” to those applications, along with a photo of
the canine, and a $50 U.S. Postal Money Order [from the Post Office], for
processing and/or registration.
Once we receive the breeder’s
“Application”, and “Addendum”, we will research the pedigree to
determine that the dog’s ancestral history is in order.
Afterwards, if the canine is approved, the owner will receive an “ARF
Certificate of Registration”; but, if the canine is rejected, a rejection
notice will be sent to the breeder, indicating why his/her canine was not ARF-approved,
or that more information on the canine is required.
Whatever the case may be, after doing the research, the $50
processing/registration fee will not be refunded.
To obtain any of our ARF applications, these can be printed directly from our ARF web site, ; see “ARF Application Forms”, or, by writing, e-mailing, or calling the ARF office.
