ARE YOU WANTING TO SPONSOR
AN ARF-SANCTIONED SHOW?
By Al Walker, ARF Trustee
Requirement 1:
You must be an ARF Certified Breeder; if not, please complete an ARF Application for Certified Breeder Membership.
Requirement 2:
Your ARF-Show team must be ARF Members in good standing. Your team must consist of the following:
THE SHOW SPONSOR will provide the funding, location and Show Ring announcing; however, the location must have ARF approval. [Note: Reimbursement of funding will come from "Entry Fees", "Admissions", "Parking", "Vendors", and "Raffles".] Also, the Show Sponsor will provide the ARF with proof of "Show Insurance". Further, it will be up to the Show Sponsor to set the amount that the participant will pay for "Entry Fees", and provide each participant with a copy of the "ARF Breed Standard", and a copy of "ARF Rules of Conduct".
A SHOW ORGANIZER will provide the date of the Show, and the events; "Conformation", "Working Classes", etc. [Note: Plenty of time should be allowed to prepare, and to give participants plenty of time to plan to attend. Also, the organizer will make certain that all Show personnel understand all ARF Rules, Procedures, Breed Standards, and Disqualifications. [Note: This information will be provided from the ARF, to the Show Organizer.] Further, the Show Organizer will provide the ARF with "Show Information", so it can be posted on the ARF web site. This Information should include all of the weekend events, directions on how to get to the Show location, available lodging, and/or camp grounds, and all Show contact information.
2 SHOW MANAGERS: One for "Conformation", and one for "Working Events"; these Managers will keep an accurate record of each event, regarding "Scores", "Time Limits", "Amount of Weight Pulled", etc., of every dog that is entered into the Show, and make certain that the proper "Entry Fee(s)" have been paid. In the Show Ring, the Manager will oversee the Show Judges, and take his/her "Score Sheet" once the dog has been judged. Further, the Manager will see that "ARF Post Show Requirements" are complete in every detail [Note: See "ARF Post Show Requirements", posted on the ARF web site, or ask for a copy from the ARF Office.].
2 OR MORE JUDGES: The Judges must be ARF-approved, and must follow "ARF Rules of Conduct for ARF-Sanctioned Dog-Show Judges" [Note: See "ARF Rules of Conduct for ARF-Sanctioned Dog-Show Judges", posted on the ARF web site, or ask for a copy from the ARF Office.].
Requirement 3:
Once the weekend Show has concluded, the Show Sponsor will provide ARF a complete accounting of the Show; this accounting will consist of the following:
A financial statement, listing all Show expenses; rental of location, printing, cost of trophies/ribbons, photos/videos, and the fees to pay for Judges’ travel, lodging and meals. This financial statement must be signed off by both the Show Sponsor and the Show organizer.
If there is a balance, beyond the cost of the Show, this balance shall be remitted to the ARF, to be used for the next ARF-Sanctioned Show. However, if there is a Show deficit, the Show Sponsor will bear the financial burden until the next Show; then, hopefully, the second Show will recover the financial loss of the first Show.
The "Points", and/or "Titles", that each participant earned.
Photos of each Participant, with dog and trophy, and/or ribbon, so that they can be featured on the ARF web site.
If you can meet or exceed our ARF-Sanctioned Show standard, we would like to hear from you. However, should you need further information on being an ARF Show Sponsor, please call or contact the ARF office.
