PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
RE: ALAPAHA BLUE BLOOD BULLDOGS
Due to a controversy, over the "Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog", this is a public announcement, to inform you of the following:
There are "two types" of "Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs" being promoted – the "rare", and a "mixed breed".
Ms. Lana Lou Lane was the first to "coin" the name, "Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog", in regards to the Alapaha River that flowed near her home in Rebecca, Georgia.
Ms. Lane contacted the ARF, in 1986, to protect and to register her "Old-timey Plantation Bulldog". This "Rare Breed" was placed into ARF’s Rare Breed Survival Stud Book", at the same time Ms. Lane became an ARF Certified Breeder; from 1986 to 2001.
ARF was the first to "Recognize" and "Register" the "Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog", in November 1986.
Before and after Ms. Lane’s death, in 2001, other "Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog" "Associations", "Registries", etc, have evolved, making "claims" that "they" are the original, and "they" are the only ones that the public should contact, in regards to "purchasing" & "registering" an "Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog". To this, ARF warns: BUYER, BEWARE!
The Animal Research Foundation does not recognize these "private" organizations, nor will the ARF register their "type" of "Bulldog".
The ARF welcomes serious inquiries; and, a "Breeders’ List" is available upon request.
